From the Idea to the Score

The Process

Every commission begins with a conversation. Before a single note is written, I take the time to understand the artistic, dramatic or ceremonial intention behind the request — the emotional arc, the instrumentation, the context, the audience. Composition, at this level, is not a service: it is a creation "à la carte".

From that first exchange emerges a compositional proposal — a stylistic direction, an instrumentation plan, a structural sketch. Once these specifications validated, the work moves through successive stages of drafting of the the main ideas, structuration, musical writing, arrangement, orchestration, scoring, review and refinement, until the score is ready for rehearsal and performance.

With 30 years of experience, I deliver fully engraved, performance-ready scores and parts, prepared to international editorial standards.

When required, I also supervise, even manage and conduct the premiere performance or the recording sessions, working directly with professional musicians and technicians to ensure the highest musical result.

Timeline & Deliverables

Timelines are established case by case, depending on the scope and complexity of the commission. All works are delivered as fully engraved PDF scores and editable source files. Rental material and publishing support can be arranged on request.

- Premixed Audio Demo

- Attendance at rehearsals and handovers with the performers

- Possible revision of the score after the first performance and before publication
